Newbury Park Doctor Treats Marines in Iraq

The retired Navy medical officer lost patients — and saved others — during the U.S. Marines’ first siege of Fallujah in April 2004. For his actions, Wilkes was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal with Combat Valor.
